i loooove this cell phone idea! it could even be just an easier way to get prepaid. for the day or something.
the closest thing i have seen is just buying a sim card and getting a small number of credits for the short trip. the problem with that is, the registration process takes a while (they sets u up with ur own number etc..), its expensive like 30 to 50 bucks (inlcluding only about 10 mins of chat time), and lastly not all phones take sim cards.

I think eventually, there will be a need for a global cell phone provider who can achieve the same scale as a domestic provider. There will be no "long" distance calls anymore.

this has nothing to do with cell phones, but i just came across this sick site, it is a renting community, and allows u to rent stuff out or rent stuff from other people...literally anyhting...
