Nice shout out to Balsamiq. I am a huge fan of theirs as well. Really helps with quickly communicating thoughts to designers and engineers.

please check out iplotz.com, also for mockups and wireframes, but in preview mode, navigating by clickable objects and areas is also possible. The application is online at the moment, but will be available as a desktop version within a few days

I usually go down to my local Beer of the Month club for a pint but struggle with the crowd to get to the bar on busy nights. I would love to be able to use one of these, I can imagine there will be problems with checking the people using it are not underage, but either way this is probably going to be everywhere in the future.

Chai- this post is great, and the concept is more possible today than ever. Incubaker is trying to incorporate this ideal through its latest project, www.holstee.com [currently under redesign] a tshirt line where 100% of the proceeds are used to empower impoverished entrepreneurs around the world via 0% interest micro loans. If customer's continue to expect this from providers, i think (re: hope) social responsibility will carry the same weight as the bottom line.

You really do get used it after a while. Having a separate sit-down desk has it's +s and -s. On the + side, my treadmill desk surface is really to small if I need to work with a lot of physical books or papers. But if all you have is the treadmill desk, you'll probably end up walking more.

I think a bike would require more balance than a treadmill. But if you can make it work, it's the same idea. Some people are using those little step machines too.

A friend of mine experienced this last year when he worked in investment banking in switzerland. According to him you get used to it after a few days and so you dont get tired really. I think his was actually a laptop rather than a fixed desktop computer, so you can go to a desk if you feel the need.

The stationary bicycle is defintely a good idea. But the seat would have to be more comfortable than a regular bike if you're to focus on work. Otherwise work would literally be a pain in the ass!
