Police Inline for the Future of Transport?

Recently in Paris I came across a transportation innovation for the local patrol men. These police officers were on Inlineskates.   • So are you thinking like a snowshoe type of holster, where you can slip your shoe in and out?
  • yea something like that.
    have u seen the type of wheels on inline agressive skates? basicallz u can screw them off and ur left with 4 wheels attached by a bar and the shoe. it would be great if u could universally throw those wheels on a any pair of shoes or sneakers wihtout damage to the shoe.
  • what about 'heely'(http://www.heelys.com/)?? would you consider sporting those... just about every kid under 11 must have a pair... one of the underlying factors, at least in the states, is the absence of of bike lanes ( or in this case, alternative transportation lanes)... i ride my bike to work.. less 30% of my route has bike lanes (half of which has delivery trucks are double parked) the rest of the ride requires me and my fellow cyclists to compete with the cars for space... if every major street in nyc had dedicated bike lanes like the one being created on 9th ave (see link below) we would see a hell of a lot less cars..
