    Im not familiar with the recycling process, but why would it take more time to recycle than it would to recreate it from scratch??
  • Yes I wonder if the shipping "carbon footprint" outweighs the "carbon credit" of reusing the material...my mom grew up in postwar Germany, and remembers taking the same glass bottle back time and time again to the factory itself for refilling (on foot of course!) I know we can;t turn back time, but I think the 100-mile radius food trend that's becoming more in vogue would serve as a good model for a lot enviornmental works. But it doesn't jibe with being a Global Village of course...and trade has always existed between continents, it's really nothing new...
